Looking Out for One Another: Zhejiang Province’s First Batch of Supplies Sent to Overseas Chinese in Italy

3月11日清晨5时50分，杭州萧山国际机场，一架货机准时起飞，前往目的地意大利。

At 5:50 a.m. on March 11, a cargo plane took off as scheduled from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport for its destination in Italy.

机上满载的，是浙江省第一批驰援海外侨胞抗击新冠肺炎的物资。这些一次性口罩、N95医用口罩、隔离衣、防护服、护目镜、乳胶手套等，由浙江省社会各界联合捐赠，共4556箱。

The plane was packed with a total of 4,556 boxes of supplies, the first batch from Zhejiang Province to aid overseas Chinese in their fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The supplies include disposable face masks, N95 respirators, isolation clothing, protective clothing, goggles, and latex gloves, which were jointly donated by all walks of life in Zhejiang Province.

意大利是欧洲浙籍侨胞最多的国家， 30多万浙籍侨胞旅居该国。随着当地新冠肺炎疫情的加剧，家乡人民日益牵挂他们安危。

Italy has the largest number of Chinese from Zhejiang Province than any other European country, with more than 300,000 residents from Zhejiang. As the coronavirus epidemic intensifies in the local area, people back in their hometown are becoming increasingly concerned about the safety of their families in Italy.

省侨办、省侨联相关负责人介绍，新冠肺炎疫情发生以来，海外浙籍侨胞一直千方百计采购防疫物资，以各种方式支援家乡抗疫，体现了浓浓的爱乡之情。“如今海外侨胞有困难了，家乡父老理应以最大的努力给予支援。”

The supervisor of Zhejiang Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Zhejiang Provincial All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese explained that since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, overseas Chinese from Zhejiang Province have been doing everything possible to purchase anti-epidemic supplies to support their hometown to fight against the epidemic in various ways, which reflects their devotion to their hometown. “Now that overseas Chinese are in difficulty, people from their hometown should give their best support.”

岂曰无衣，与子同袍——过去的这些天，省侨办、省侨联及时对接海外相关侨团了解物资需求；省慈善总会、省侨缘会等社会公益组织积极组织募捐；侨乡丽水青田县和温州鹿城区、文成县等地连夜组织运送物资到杭州；民间社会组织也竭尽全力帮助联系捐赠驰援物资……目标只有一个：用最快的速度把侨胞所急所需送达他们手中。

Over the last few days, Zhejiang Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Zhejiang Provincial All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese have quickly connected with related overseas Chinese groups to understand their needs in regards to supplies. The Provincial Charity Federation, the Provincial Overseas Chinese Association and other social public welfare organizations are actively organizing donations. Renowned hometowns of overseas Chinese, such as Qingtian County of Lishui, Lucheng District of Wenzhou and Wencheng County, organized the overnight delivery of supplies to Hangzhou. Civil society organizations also made every effort to help facilitate the donation of supplies... There is only one goal: to deliver the items that overseas Chinese are in urgent need of as soon as possible.

3月9日晚上到10日上午9时，26.4吨捐赠物资在杭州萧山国际机场货运仓库“集结”完毕，一眼看不到头的货箱上每一只都贴着“守望相助 风雨同舟”“浙江驰援意大利侨胞抗疫物资”等标签。

From the evening of March 9 to 9am on March 10, 26.4 tons of donated supplies were “collected” in the freight warehouse of Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. Each item of cargo was labeled with words such as “Looking Out for One Another”, and “Zhejiang Province Aiding overseas Chinese in Italy to Fight Against the Disease”.

担心省侨办、省侨联的工作人员忙不过来，机场物流公司特地派出10多名员工帮忙，“早一点准备好，就能早一点出发。”一直忙着贴标签的王进平告诉记者，听说这些防疫物资是支援海外侨胞的，大家都希望能快一点，再快一点。

Worrying that the staff of the Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation were too busy, the logistics company at the airport specially sent more than 10 employees to help. “Prepare earlier, dispatch earlier” - Wang Jinping, who has been busy labeling the supplies, told reporters that he heard these were the supplies aiding overseas Chinese, so everyone hopes they can be dispatched as fast as possible.

守望相助，风雨同舟。面对病毒，海内外中华儿女是同气连枝、同根相连的一家人。同心同行，其利断金。家乡的亲人定将与海外侨胞一起携手抗疫，一起共渡难关。让我们一起等待春暖花开时！

Looking Out for One Another. In the face of the virus, Chinese at home and abroad are one big family with the same roots. If people are of the same mind, they can accomplish anything.
